- Tomodachi Collection, Tomodachi Life, and Miitopia. Food items can be bought at the Food Mart, or received as a reward from Miis, such as watching Mii dreams. In Miitopia, the player instead receives food as items dropped from an enemy they defeat. Food, known as Grub in Miitopia, is an item that can be used to feed Miis in
Much like real life, Miis have different preferences for what foods they like, ranging from their all-time favorite to their worst ever food, although they will eat any food that is given to them. Food Items are separated into 4 categories: Main Dish, Side Dish, Sweets, and Drinks, that each have an effect on how the Mii reacts to the food, the probability of them liking it, or how much it fills their stomach. Throughout the various regional varieties, there are various foods not present in other versions, such as various Japanese dishes in the Japanese version of the game.
Food is first used in Tomodachi Collection, as an item that can be given to a Mii when they are hungry. Each Mii has a different preference on what foods they particuarly like, and generally will stay with that preference. Some foods, however, act as the Mii's All-Time Favorite or Worst, regardless of preference.
Food returns in Tomodachi Life, functioning exactly the same as in Collection. The most notable new feature, however, is the inclusion of a Super All-Time favorite and Worst Ever reaction. Besides this new addition, nothing unique is added.
Food makes another appearance in Miitopia, now reffered to as Grub, a slang term for food. The food in this game is much different than the mainstreem Tomodachi games, most notably only appearing after an enemy is defeated in battle, or if obtained in Roulette. Besides filling a Mii's hunger, they now upgrade a Mii's stats based on the food given, such as HP or MP. Much like Tomodachi Collection, Miis will also have preferences for what food they like and dislike.
